An Australian Citizen, Dr Noel Nadesan was born in Jaffna Sri Lanka.  In 1979, he graduated from the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka as a Veterinary Surgeon.

He worked for the Sri Lankan government as a Veterinarian for four years, and for a private Veterinarian Clinic in India for two years.

After moving to Australia, Dr Nadesan received a post graduate degree in Biotechnology and obtained a Masters of Applied Science degree from the University of New South Wales.  Dr Nadesan is the Owner of a small animal veterinarian clinic and has been practicing for over 20 years in Australia.

In 1984, after moving to Tamilnadu, India, Dr Nadesan served three years as Secretary for a Charity Organization he setup called “Medical Unit”, a service that provided medical care for over 100,000 Tamil refugees in Tamilnadu, India.  In addition, he worked as an Administrator for the Chennai Hospital that was formed as a preventive medicine programme that provided vaccinations, health education, and sanitary supplies.

From 1987 to 1997 Dr Nadesan helped to establish the “Ceylon Tamil Refugee Organisation” to assist with the onshore Tamil refugees from Sri Lanka, and soon after became the Editor and Publisher of the first Sri Lankan Community News Paper “Uthayam”.

In 2009 Dr Nadesan coordinated an international conference for Tamil Expatriate Based Diaspora Dialogue with the Sri Lankan government in Colombo, Sri Lanka, to help innocent people affected in the Sri Lankan war zone and helped the post war and development initiatives.

Dr Nadesan passionately works to assist the displaced and war affected civilians in Sri Lanka, by providing clothing, College Scholarships, financial support, and even established the rural Hospital at Eluvaitivu, with his time, resources, and dedication.

As an Author, Dr Nadesan has written many articles and four books in Tamil, with two of the novel’s having been translated in English (Butterfly Lake and Lost in You).
